Gun Violence Awareness Site Offers Impartial Views And Understanding Of Current Issues

By Kenya Saab

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding gun ownership in the United States lately. Some concerns are rising about the growth of the gun culture in our world and what is causing its popularity. There have been many instances of violent crimes reported in the news and locally and people are searching for solutions to quell this trend. There is now a website that explores these issues concerning gun ownership and gun violence and is seeking to encourage positive and intelligent discourse coming from both sides of the issue.

Not affiliated with a particular organization, the site respectfully examines First and Second Amendment rights as they're written in the Constitution. Some people unwaveringly defend these rights, while others believe that the Bill of Rights was written so long ago that the right to bear arms needs to be rewritten to reflect current values.

The basis of the website is to educate people by allowing them to understand the debate from both sides of the fence, those opposed to the issue and those for the issue of gun rights. It also helps citizens understand the media's role in helping to form our opinions about guns and also to shed more light on the wording of the gun laws so that they can better be understood by laymen and people who are interested in knowing the legal aspects of gun ownership. A site visitor can read about many things such as the benefits of owning guns, the American history of guns and also on gun control laws and if we really need to own guns as American citizens.

There are also links to social media and a form to submit blog posts and comment on threads about issues being discussed. In order to comply with First Amendment Rights the site allows individuals to express their opinions, so long as they do so in a respectful manner. Being politically correct is not a requirement but is considered a common courtesy.

Demeaning anyone because of race, gender, religion, or opinion is not tolerated.

This website is more than a political forum on gun rights, it allows people to talk about having checks and balances in place that can be applied to current gun laws and to talk about any revisions or provisions that should be made to modify existing laws that can strike a balance for all concerned and promote safety and also protect freedoms at the same time. Viewers of the website are encouraged to make their contributions regarding our gun laws and gun violence and also discuss the laws regarding to have and own guns.
