Concentrate on your shooting practice because most of this sport involves your capability of doing this when in the game. The equipment does not define the player but it is advantageous if they prepare and have the right gear. You can buy in online shops or on physical stores but make sure that what you bought will fit your play style. Make sure the stick length or weight of shoulder pads would not be a hindrance in your physical performance.

Coaches are looking also for players with willingness and attitude in learning more which makes it easier to teach them. Someone who performs diligently every given task without slacking off or cutting corners and is a good teammate. They intently listen when the coach is teaching something and ask questions for clarifications on things they did not understand.

Some kids have the natural gift of talent and physical condition so them getting a position is pretty much guaranteed. But others slack off and cut corners which would lower their chances to get in. Avoid becoming one and continue preparing and training intensely and passionately.
