Why A Galvanized Pile Driver Is Essential In Construction

The construction business requires many types of equipment and machinery. When it comes to large urbanization projects some may need something as large as cranes, back hoes and other ones that get the job done. The project managers and owners have a choice of whether to rent out these things or buy them depending on the circumstance and duration of construction.

One process of making a building is digging and forming a solid foundation. Most often they use a galvanized pile driver. What this basically does is to drive piles and into the soil to provide support for the building foundation.This is often utilized for deep foundations and not for shallow ones that are often used for houses and low level buildings.

While it may not be necessary for low standing structures like houses with only one level, it is definitely a must for buildings. The pile is meant to help hold the building in its place and the surrounding things with it help distribute the weight evenly. The pole is meant to be dug past the top soil, which is more often loose, and then dug into the subsoil. The subsoil has a firmer hold and is therefore best for a more stable footing.

Materials such as reinforced concrete, timber, steel and others are used as poles or piles that support the foundation. There is a basic engineered structure that is usually the standard when using the deep foundation method. It is composed of the pole, cap, the grade beam and the wall. Since the pile is not able to carry all the weight alone, these other areas assist in taking care of the load.

There are two methods in installing the piles. The first one is driving, and the second is boring. Since the focus is pile driving, this is what is going to be emphasized. There are also two ways that driving can be done. These are the driver pre cast and cast in situ. Choosing a method needs substantial study and research involving the construction site.

Knowing which method to choose depends on certain factors. Such factors include the type and quality of soil, the length of the building, stratas of rocks and so on. The matter involves a substantial amount of study. One of big advantage of driving methods are how the pole can be driven in very long lengths as long as it is done with the right equipment.

Approval for usage of this equipment depends on the engineer and the method cannot be started unless it is evaluated by them. The structure of the driver basically composes of the hammer, cushions, leads, the pile and the template. There are various types of hammers and they can vary in efficiency.

The most efficient one with a percentage of 95 is the hydraulic or diesel powered one with a built in energy measurement. Others types include drop, single or double acting air or steam, diesel and lastly vibratory or sonic powered ones. The drop hammer has the lowest efficiency rate since it is only powered by gravity controlling the height of the equipment and just dropping it into the yard.

Other types use steam, diesel, hydraulic, sonic and vibratory power. These have higher efficiency rates when compared to the drop driver. The one that has the highest rate would be both the diesel and hydraulic ones with a value of 95 percent.
