How A Shipyard Corpus Christi Services Boats

By Patrick Taylor

The city of Corpus Christi is located right on the Gulf of Mexico, meaning that many people own boats in the area. From small paddle boats used for recreational purposes only to large ships that are used for fishing or other commercial purposes. That is why it makes sense that there is more than one Shipyard Corpus Christi in the area.

If someone is looking for work in this industry, there are many cities dotted along the coast to choose from. Corpus Christi has a lot of advantages over them, mostly due to being very affordable with plenty of housing for new hires from the yards. There is also no state income tax in Texas, so new workers will find that their take home pay goes quite far here, a clear advantage over other cities.

Should someone move here to work in one of the shipyards, they will find a wealth of job opportunities available to them, and one is sure to match their skills. Many involve heavy machinery, so people certified to use them will not have trouble finding a job. Supervisory positions are also in demand.

These yards need much more than just machine operators. Each one has offices that need secretarial and support staff to help keep everything running smoothly. They may need bookkeepers to track employee hours and make sure checks get posted on time to keep everyone happy and paid, among other jobs.

There are a couple of types of shipyards located in Corpus Christi and the surrounding area. One is the larger ones that can handle huge ships, such as the John Bludworth Shipyard. From huge barges and ferries to cruise ships, they can handle a project of any size.

These include buildings and repairs. For example, if a cruise ship wanted to renovate the rooms on board or perhaps the amenities, it could be done here. Ferries, oversize barges and more can be built. As for repairs, they can tackle mechanical, electrical or even the all-important propulsion systems that keep the boats moving forward.

If you own a much smaller boat and are a consumer rather than a company, then you can still get great service on your vessel. Try Fulton Yacht Yard or a similar service. They offer a variety of services, including fueling and detailing, or regular maintenance.

Towing is another service that a place like Fulton or a similar business can attend to. Many will do it no matter where your boat broke down, as long as it is somewhere on the Texas coastline. They can use a tugboat to tow you to their shipyard, then assess what needs fixing and how long it will take to finish the repairs. In some cases, they can send a mechanic out to you to assess first, which could save you the time, trouble and cost of a two if it can be fixed on site. Some may even be able to refuel your boat if it is simply out of gas.

Some people see these huge shipyards and think that they will be unable to get their smaller vessels repaired there. The truth is that Corpus Christi is home to many yards, and one is perfect for you.
